Meet the artist
Shelby is a mixed media artist whose work focuses on time, specifically the time within motherhood. Soft, washed colors mixed with spunky, spicy marks represent an abstraction of life, a mother balancing it all. Repetition and routine are the grounding elements—woven throughout the compositions.
As her experience of time in motherhood shifts, so does the work.
From more rigid grids of routine found in early motherhood to more fluid silhouettes as she returns to her own sort of pattern again. Marks that were once sharp and quick are now more relaxed as time becomes hers again.
