LIZ CURTIS
Liz is an American mixed media artist based in London, England. With a lifelong passion for art, she has now fully embraced her creative practice after a career in the interior design industry. For Liz, painting and sketching serve as a meditative process, allowing her to reflect on and connect with her surroundings.
Her work captures the transient beauty of life's moments: the golden hour's soft light, fresh blooms from her London garden, solitary walks through nature, and cherished time with her young children. Liz is particularly fascinated by the concept of bittersweetness, exploring how this emotional duality can be expressed through color and choice of medium in her artwork.

What do you hope people will take away from your work?
In an age where we are constantly overstimulated with newsfeeds, appointments, timers and to-do lists, my hope is that my work allows the viewer to take a moment to pause, reflect and be curious enough to explore the piece further, asking themselves "how did the artist do it?". Through this process the viewer can experience a hit of natural & slow dopamine which I feel is the ultimate luxury in 2025.

Tell us something about your process that is hard to tell from photos.
I make a lot of what I consider to be "bad art" in order to experiment and push myself outside my boundaries. My work has always been my guide, what I need to know about the next piece of art is contained in the previous piece.
