Sali Swalla
Painter of imagined gardens and landscapes.
Meet the artist
Sali Swalla was born in Hawaii to a Japanese mother and a military aviator father. She spent her early years living in many states around the US, as well as Japan and Korea. She attended university in Tokyo and later put down roots in LA. Fueled by her nomadic youth, Sali developed a unique inner spirit.
“I hope to make visible the invisible worlds that move, motivate and guide us as soulful beings. My deepest wish for the work is for it to make the viewer pause, even for the briefest of moments, to reflect on or connect with their deeper selves."
Sali's work is an expression of longing and loss, tightly coupled with a search for wholeness and something beyond the tangible world.
