Meet the artist

Robbie Austin is an artist, teacher, husband, and father, though the order changes regularly. He lives and works in Lake Charles, Louisiana, the town where he was born and where he has spent much of his life in conversation with the people, places, and materials that surround him.

Robbie creates activations from materials that arrive with their own histories. Existing marks, stains, structures, and traces become collaborators, guiding interventions that reveal relationships already present but previously unseen.

Though widely exhibited and collected, Robbie continues to live and work in the town where he was born.
