MEGAN WOODARD JOHNSON
Megan is a mixed media artist living and creating in West Bend, Wisconsin. Having originally received formal education and training in graphic design and printmaking, Megan shifted to mixed media painting nearly 20 years ago and never looked back. When creating a new piece, Megan focuses on moments and connections that she filters into layers which creates the multi-dimensional work she is known for.

Where do you find inspiration?
My inspiration truly comes from the act of creating - the physicality of brushing on paint and drawing lines, the surprises revealed in colors and marks interacting with one another - this is what settles my thinking mind and lets my creative inspiration take center stage.

What do you hope people will take away from your work?
I feel that, in the end, my paintings communicate feelings, which can unlock memories. I hope that the viewer can spend enough time with a piece to zero in on the emotions it evokes, and settle in with a memory it calls forth.
