Robbie Austin is an artist, a teacher, a father, and a husband – though that order fluctuates regularly.  He lives in a 112-year-old house, in the town he was born, one-half mile from his high school alma mater, where he has taught for 18 years. Louisiana “bookends” his pilgrimage.

Liz Curtis

On a recent June visit to Giverny, Liz had the opportunity to experience Monet’s House and Gardens. His Japanese-inspired sanctuary and the studio where he painted his legendary water lilies, now housed in the Musée de l’Orangerie in Paris.

As she moved through the garden’s living canopy, she found herself mesmerized not by the flowers, trees and water, but by the light filtering through the leaves above.

Kristen is a mixed media painter, drawing inspiration from the scenic landscapes of Boulder, Colorado where she resides. Guided by introspection and propelled by a sense of joyful experimentation, Kristen's creative process spans a diverse array of mediums and materials. Through ongoing exploration, she intentionally infuses unpredictability into her work, allowing for surprises to unfold.

Lyric Morris-Latchaw

Lyric reimagines common plants using whimsical colors and playful, painterly forms that speak to a communally-thriving vision of the future. Lyric's work often explores her personal connection to the land on which she lives, as well as the interconnectedness of all living things—the invisible bond that ties us to the land and our neighbors, as hard as humanity might try to set us apart.

Shelby is a mixed media artist focusing her work on time, specifically the time within motherhood. Collaborating & competing soft, washed colors with spunky, spicy marks, she showcases how the balance of the two creates an authentic abstraction of life balancing being a mother. Repetition & routine find themselves within the process & throughout the compositions.
